At&t has just announced that they are going to begin throttling the speeds of its’ unlimited data subscribers. The company stopped selling an unlimited plan earlier this year and the now only way to have this coveted plan is to be an iPhone user that was grandfathered in. Now At&t is going to be throttling the speeds of these users that use more than 5GB of data per month. They said this will only affect a very small percentage of people and it is a result of spectrum problems. Obviously they are trying to spin this to convince people to support their merger with T-Mobile, even though these spectrum constraints aren’t entirely accurate. I guess unlimited isn’t really unlimited, unless of course you are on Sprint. Click past the break for the full press release.
